SPA: Edouard De Paris at Miami Beach Resort & Spa, Miami, FL
TYPE: Hotel Spa
PRICING: Facials $95-$140; Massages $95-$284; Body Treatments $85-$150
TREATMENTS RECEIVED: Facial, Deep Tissue Massage
SUMMARY: This hotel day spa and hair salon is located in the mid-century Miami Beach Resort and Spa, previously the Doral Hotel. The 40-year old facility has seven treatment rooms in 3,000 square feet of space, and faces out towards the beach front. That’s a positive….one of few here. What an experience this was!! Not your usual day spa, to be sure.
The staff was very nice and friendly and accommodating, BUT this place needs some serious TLC. The owners need to invest some money and some attention to customer comforts...new spa flip-flops, new towels, robes, etc. To say this place is "dated" is an understatement. The air conditioning needs HELP as the entire place operates on one HVAC unit and I was freezing in the treatment room. There are ways around this problem if they'd just make an effort.
When you consider the prices they charge for services they REALLY need to make improvements in the facility and in the quality of the treatments. I heartily disapprove of the 20% gratuity that is automatically added to the bill...
I don't want to get too negative here but suffice it to say that this place is disappointing, doesn't have to be. Edouard de Paris needs to take this constructive criticism and act on it PRONTO!
