Summary:  Tucked away inside a trendy boutique hotel just a few minute’s walk from the Spanish Steps, this spa is a quiet retreat from the hustle and bustle of Rome.  Blue mosaic tiled surfaces, white floral arrangements and votive candles exude cool serenity without feeling too sterile.  The spa is deceptively spacious, with plenty of treatment rooms and a generously sized indoor wet area that includes a Finnish sauna, steam bath and a heated saltwater whirlpool bath with jets positioned in a variety of configurations to soothe weary muscles from head to toe.  The wet area is free with a spa treatment, and 45Î for a day pass that also gives access to the small, well-equipped gym.  The one down side to this spa is that the wet area is really the only “robe friendly” relaxation space in the spa. The bright and busy reception area with chic white leather seating and a full tea service feels too public for lounging.

The treatment rooms were equally as serene and comfortable as the rest of the spa. The young staff was all smiles, and what they lacked in their command of English they made up for in their competent massage skills.  Check your modesty at the door, because draping is not as common a practice here as it is in the US.  You are provided with a pair of disposable panties to wear during treatments, and a towel over the breasts is provided by request only.  The Aroma Massage came with a choice of half a dozen different essential oils to choose from, including combining one or more scents together.

Amenities were top notch, from thick robes, towels and disposable terry slippers, to the CARITA hair products and body lotion.  The dressing/ locker room was on the smallish side, but the bright lighting and high ceilings made it feel more spacious than it was.  Drinking water was everywhere, and therapists offered it after each treatment.  A spa menu was also available.  One of the best hotel spa experiences we’ve enjoyed and a nice respite from sightseeing.
